USA places sixth at Intercontinental Cup in Russia with 2-3 final record

KHASAVYURT, Russia - The United States placed sixth in the final standings at the Intercontinental Cup, a major freestyle dual meet tournament held at the Hamid Hamidov Palace of Sports on Thursday. The USA finished with a 2-3 record for the day.

Nicholas Marable
Collierville, TN
Recent graduate and two-time Missouri All-American at 165 pounds, Nicholas Marable begins his first year as the Tiger's assistant strength and conditioning coach.
A three-time NCAA qualifier, Marable wrestled to a third place finish at the 2008 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, the highest finish amongst Tigers. As a senior, the Tiger grappler posted a 35-5 record, which included a 13-1 dual mark, and became the 17th Missouri wrestler in program history to join the elite 100-win club.
Winner of three consecutive Big 12 titles, Marable finished his career with 116 wins, the eighth-most in Missouri history, and was awarded Missouri's Hap Whitney Coaches Award honor in 2007 as well as Most Improved Wrestler accolades in 2008.
The Collierville, Tenn., native graduated from Missouri in the spring of 2010 with a degree in psychology. In his new role with the Tigers, Marable will help Missouri's wrestlers in the weight room, while also assisting in off-season freestyle training.

Donations for the Missouri Wrestling Foundation go towards helping athletes of all
ages reach their goals of Olympic and World championships. Donations are used
to help athletes train year round. These donations are used to pay for
housing, transportation, food, travel and other expenses to and from International
wrestling events and allow the athletes to remain focused on training.
